Volume 1

Number 1

Editorial Council
The Network's journal is the Review of Economic Development, Public Policy and Law. Priority will be given to articles focused on concrete problems in economic development and public policies design. Submissions with an interdisciplinary approach will be strongly encouraged. Under this framework, theoretical articles will be accepted and analyzed, but preference will be given to empirical articles and case studies. Technical literature reviews will not be considered for publication.

The Editorial Council comprises network participants and non-participants from a variety of localities. This diversity aims at ensuring an international quality standard to the review. For the first issue, articles will be chosen among those submitted to T&D World Conference. The members of the Editorial Council in a double blind review process will analyze them. In a near future, ad hoc referees, from various countries different from those of the authors, will be hired to ensure an unbiased and more specialized selection process. At this point, the function of the Editorial Council will be the definition of editorial guidelines.

The exposition to an international editorial board aims at increasing the standards of affiliated researchers production, and will also help these works to reach a larger audience.

The journal will be a annual publication, released in May, and will have between 160 and 240 pages, with around six articles and eventually with comments of these articles made by experienced scholars. We expect that the faculties invited to the T&D World Conference and Ibero-America Conference can also produce these comments. The first two issues will have 1000 copies each, and their distribution will follow a strategy to produce a great impact in academic and practitioner's communities: two third of the edition will be freely distributed to Universities, Government Agencies, Research Centers and institutions directly involved with policy making.

The release of the journal poses two challenges to the network. First, raise resources to launch the journal, assuring a good and sober graphical project, a website infrastructure to collect the articles, and also funding to publish the appendix on line supplement, and to secure proper distribution of the journal once published. The T&D Board is currently looking for these resources. So far we have sponsorship from Sao Paulo Stock Exchange - the Judicial Risk event will help to raise some resources as well.
